HACC’s admissions application system is scheduled to be upgraded Oct. 4-9. During this time, future students will not be able to submit an admissions application. Please visit start.hacc.edu to learn more. Thank you for your patience.
Choosing a college can be hard, but applying doesn’t have to be. Follow these steps on your path to becoming a HACC student. If you have any questions during the application process, please reach out to an admissions professional by email at start@hacc.edu or by phone at 800-ABC-HACC.
Please find your student type below.
Student Types | Definition |
First Time Student | I never attended HACC or another college. |
Returning Student | I have not taken HACC classes in at least five years. |
Transfer Student | I attended another college or university and now want to attend HACC. |
Create an account online and follow the steps to complete your HACC application. Please note your welcome email will be sent to you within 3-5 business days. The welcome email will be sent to the email address you included on your admissions application.
Financial aid can cover your tuition and fees. More than half of all HACC students receive financial aid. Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid® (FAFSA) form to determine if you are eligible for financial aid, using HACC's school code: 003273. Contact financialaid@hacc.edu if you need assistance.
If you graduated high school within the past 10 years, HACC can use your high school or GED transcript to assess whether you need to complete placement testing. Contact the high school from which you graduated to request your transcript or provide your own copy. All transcripts must be provided in English, and should be sent to admissionsrecords@hacc.edu.
If you graduated high school more than 10 years ago, a transcript is not required except to help with meeting some science prerequisites, or for students entering the Pre-Health Professions Program.
Any student intending to use financial aid at HACC must provide proof of high school completion.
Keep an eye on the email account you used to apply for your acceptance email. It includes instructions for activating your myHACC student account and HAWKMail email address, including your student ID number. HAWKMail and myHACC are crucial for getting started as a new HACC student.
Check your HAWKmail inbox regularly for information about placement testing requirements. Schedule and attend a mandatory New Student Orientation to help you through your enrollment process and guide you on your academic journey. Orientations are offered in-person and virtually, to suit your schedule.
Your academic advisor will help you assess placement testing results and select the classes best suited for you. All new HACC students must meet with an academic advisor to receive their advising code for registration.
With guidance from your academic advisor, log into your myHACC account and register for your first semester of classes.
If you’ve applied for financial aid, your application status will be updated through your myHACC and HAWKMail accounts. Once you’ve reviewed your aid options, you can submit tuition payments through the myHACC portal. All tuition and fees must be paid by the deadline for your enrollment to be complete.
Now that you know which classes you’re taking, you can purchase your books online or at the campus bookstore.
Just like that, you’re ready for the first day of class. If you have any questions about the application process, our admissions professionals are here to help.
