At HACC, we know how hard our learners work inside and outside of the classroom. Jacob Maguire, automotive technology student, chose HACC because he knew the value of the programs offered. He said, “HACC's automotive program is the same, if not better, than most dedicated technical schools out there.” In fact, HACC’s Automotive Technology Program is accredited in eight categories of automotive repair by the Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Education Foundation.
Jacob believes learners should be proud to attend a community college as it provides “a great foundation” for future education and “competitive technical training” for those seeking a hands-on experience. Jacob’s time at HACC has not only provided him with this training but also the ability to do his job confidently each day.
He feels inspired and strives to be like his HACC instructor who “can fix anything with four wheels and an engine.”
After graduating from HACC, his goals are to be a successful automotive mechanic and own a shop to do work on the weekends. He said, “It is not the journey you take or the paper you receive at the end of your time as a student that determines your future. It is what you take from it all and how you use that knowledge that will make you be successful.”
