Meet Mary Grace: Alumna Who Gained Confidence at HACC
“HACC has given me countless opportunities for personal growth.”
HACC offers approximately 100 programs, from architecture to welding, providing students with the opportunity to find their perfect degree, certificate or diploma match. Like many, Mary Grace Beard chose HACC because she was unsure of what she wanted to major in, and HACC allowed her “to take classes to find my major at an affordable cost.”
Throughout her time at HACC, Mary Grace said she was provided countless opportunities for personal growth. She added, “HACC has so many opportunities that most people don’t know about.” She gained professional experience, planned events while learning how to budget thousands of dollars, participated in Lobby Day at the Pennsylvania State Capitol and gave a speech to 50 people. Mary Grace said she “would not have the self-confidence I have now if it wasn’t for HACC.”
She thanks HACC employees for inspiring her to get involved on campus and with her work ethic.
Mary Grace graduated in December 2018 with a degree in general studies. HACC allowed her to afford a college education and earn scholarships at another school of her choice. In her Story Bank submission, she indicated that she plans to graduate from Lebanon Valley College with a degree in global studies.
