Please join us for this lecture-performance by Dialogues on Diversity, Inc. co-founder, Ron Jones. "The Waiting Hour" is the story of one Black union soldier recalling his Freedom Eve upon hearing that the word of liberty had finally reached Galveston, Texas, on June 19, 1865 (Now known as Juneteenth). The piece speaks to the significance of both those days about the ongoing struggle of a people to gain their dignity. It also speaks to the forces that were put into motion to respond to their liberty both then and now.
All are welcome.
