Wikipedia defines service-learning as a method of teaching that combines classroom instruction with meaningful community service. This form of learning emphasizes critical thinking and personal reflection while encouraging a heightened sense of community, civic engagement and personal responsibility.
Who can participate in a HACC service-learning program?
All current HACC students are eligible to apply for participation in a service-learning program. Pre-reqs (if applicable) must be met.
How many credits can I earn?
Service-learning courses are not to be confused with academic courses and therefore do not earn academic credits.

As global service-learning programs become available, this link will take you to the online application. There is no charge to apply, students MUST apply in order to be considered for participation in the program.

HACC is offering a global service-learning program to current HACC students with travel to Clarkston, GA. For program details and how to apply click here. Search: HACC Georgia - Global Service Learning Program. The deadline to apply and complete all enrollment forms including payment of a $400 non-refundable deposit is Friday, Nov. 2, 2018. Payment in full of the program fee (less the deposit) is due January 11, 2019.
