HACC announces staff appointment at York Center

March 8, 2007
HACC, Central Pennsylvania's Community College, recently appointed Peter Oscsodal, PhD as the college's director of student services at the York Center.

In this role, Oscsodal is responsible for overseeing student retention services, such as academic advising, financial aid, veterans' affairs and counseling. At the beginning of the year Oscsodal took on additional responsibility for enrollment management, which includes admissions and registration.

Oscsodal served as coordinator of student employment and as a career counselor at SUNY Cortland before joining HACC. He brings experience as an advisor for first-year and transfer students that will prove to be of significant value to the York Center student body, where about half of the students transfer to other colleges for their bachelor's degree.

A graduate of Syracuse University, Oscsodal holds a doctorate in counselor education and supervision and a master's degree in counselor education. He also serves as nominations chair of the Middle Atlantic Career Counseling Association (MACCA) and will co-chair the MACCA spring conference this month.
