Students named winners in Honors Photography Exhibit

The work of several students in the Honors Photography program at HACC, Central Pennsylvania's Community College, was selected to receive awards, which were announced at a recent reception held in the Rose Lehrman Art Gallery on the Harrisburg Campus.

The winners include:
Color Photography - First place: "Looking Through Glass: Self-Portrait in Tungsten" by Eleanor Sokolow of Camp Hill; second place: "They were Badly Burnt, but Still Bleating" by Brooke Courtney of Manheim, and third place: "A Garden" by Eric Woodward of New Cumberland.

Black and White Photography - First place: "Washout" by Brian Roy of Harrisburg; second place: "Untitled" by Brooke Courtney of Manheim, and third place: "Reflection" by Cassandra Wance of Lebanon.

The first place winners received $75 each; second place winners received $50 each, and the third place winners received $25 each.

In addition, Courtney received the Aperture Award, which is a year's subscription the photography magazine Aperture, donated by the magazine. She also received the HACC Library Purchase award and her piece "They were Badly Burnt, but Still Bleating" will become part of the college collection.
