Career-building skills focus of symposium at HACC-Lancaster Campus

Internships and Job Shadowing Exhibition set Oct. 20

LANCASTER – Being prepared for the fierce competition in the job market is even more critical in today’s tight economy. The Career and Transfer Center at HACC-Lancaster Campus is offering a free symposium to overcome obstacles to the job search from noon-2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 20, in Room 203 of the East Building.
 “Attend this event to gain knowledge about career fields, which can help in making decisions regarding a college major or occupational choice,” said Lorie Sonnen, assistant director of career services at HACC-Lancaster Campus.
The symposium will focus on career-building skills, job shadowing and internships. Information for attendees will include:
  • Internship program opportunities with local businesses
  • How to earn academic credit while working
  • Success stories from previous interns and employers
  • The benefits of job shadowing
How to make connections and start networking
