College Fair at HACC to feature nearly 135 colleges and universities

Sept. 16, 2010
HARRISBURG – Nearly 135 colleges and universities from up and down the East Coast will participate in the annual Pennsylvania Association for College Admission Counseling (PACAC) college fair from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 6, in the Cooper Student Center at HACC’s Harrisburg Campus.
The free, public event returns for the 34th year to HACC, One HACC Drive, offering information to anyone contemplating the many options available in higher education.
The fair will feature two seminars on topics of primary interest to the college-bound student.
Bruce Diefenderfer of PHEAA (Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency) will lead the seminar, “Paying for College.” Diefenderfer will address the financial aid application process, as well as help students and parents understand the right time to start the financial aid process.
Danielle Brookhart, director of recruitment for the Harrisburg Campus, will lead “Selecting the College That’s Right for You.” Brookhart will focus on topics such as how to identify a student’s area of interest and what different colleges have to offer.
Both seminars will be offered from 6:15-6:45 p.m. and again from 7:15-7:45 p.m., giving participants the opportunity to attend each seminar.
