Life in the fast lane? HACC offers accelerated path to bachelor's degree

Find out more at April 28 info session at HACC's Lancaster Campus

LANCASTER – Career-minded folks who find it difficult to fit college classes around family, work and other obligations will find the solution with the fast-track Business Studies associate degree at the Lancaster Campus of HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College.
Classes meet two nights a week and students have the option to choose the number of courses to take during each eight-week session. Courses are offered at affordable community college prices, and financial aid options are available.
To find out more, plan to attend an information session at 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 28, in Room 227 of the Main Building on the campus.
“This is an intensive program that fits full semester-long classes into just eight weeks,” said Mike C. Corradino, campus dean of academic affairs. Rather than the five- to six-years often required to complete a degree program by attending college on a part-time basis, the fast-track option can reduce that time to 24 months to 36 months, he said.
“We have designed special ‘stop-out’ options to accommodate particularly busy times. You can skip an eight-week session if things get busy at work or home and then jump right back in where you left off,” Corradino said.
“This program will be hard work and will take a real commitment from the student, it offers an alternative for those who don’t have the time to attend a semester-long class,” he added.
