July 15, 2010
GETTYSBURG – Residents in the Hanover/Adams County area can prepare for in-demand local jobs with expert training offered in the Technology Studies program at the Gettysburg Campus of HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College.
The program has two specializations: industrial electricity and welding. Classes in welding are held at Southwestern High School and those in industrial electricity are held at the Hanover Center for Workforce Excellence. Additional coursework can be completed at HACC-Gettysburg Campus or online through HACC’s Virtual Campus.
To find out more, attend a free information session at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 3, in the Hoffman Community Room at campus, 731 Old Harrisburg Road. Attendees can meet the faculty, talk to current students, tour the campus and learn about the admissions process, courses and financial aid.
“HACC’s programs in industrial electricity and welding can give successful participants the skills for entry-level jobs in many technology fields, such as contracting, industrial maintenance, and manufacturing,” said Scott Simonds, campus dean of student affairs. “Technology Studies provides a career pathway for students to an associate degree that is specifically developed to meet the technical and non-technical needs identified by local business and industry.”
To reserve a space, call 337-3855, x3001 or reply online at www.hacc.edu/gettysburg.
