HACC-York Campus offers entrepreneurial boot camp business basics to student military veterans

Free workshops to be presented in June by HACC Institute for Entrepreneurial Studies

YORK – HACC student military veterans in Central Pennsylvania who want to become entrepreneurs can get the know-how at a free boot camp at the York Campus of HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College.
The four-day series of workshops on business start-up basics will be presented by the HACC Institute of Entrepreneurial Studies (IES) from 6-9 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays, June 6-15, at the Goodling Center on campus.
The free entrepreneurial boot camp is for student military veterans attending any of HACC’s five campuses in York, Gettysburg, Harrisburg, Lancaster or Lebanon, or the online Virtual Campus.
The series includes:
Monday, June 6: Meet IES counselors and learn PA Business Basics, including how to register your fictitious name, how to get a tax identification number, how to pick a business legal structure, an overview of the business plan and a review of local resources. Meets in room 106.
Wednesday, June 8: Learn how important marketing is to any business and see examples of what other successful entrepreneurs have done to make their business known in the community. Meets in room 106.
Monday, June 13: Learn how Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter can help create stronger relationships with customers and attract new ones. Meets in the computer lab, room 130.
Wednesday, June 15: Learn how to make a business plan and the essentials of developing financial projects. Meets in room 106.
The free workshops are made possible through Celebrating Strength, funded by BAE Systems Inc. in partnership with HACC-York Campus.
