Keep New Year resolutions with HACC swim programs

Variety of classes offered at HACC’s Harrisburg Campus

HARRISBURG – Take to the pool this winter and spring to build up stamina and keep in shape with a variety of classes offered at the Evans Gym on HACC’s Harrisburg Campus.
The schedule begins Jan. 9 with sessions running through mid-June. Many classes use flotation devices. In addition, participants in the deep water classes must be comfortable in deep water. Among the offerings are:
“Aqua Jogger” offered 5-6 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, Jan. 10-Feb. 23 and March 6-April 12. Each session is $79. Exercise away the winter blues.
“Aquacize” offered 4:45-5:45 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays, Jan. 9-Feb. 22, at a cost of $85, and Mondays and Wednesdays, March 12-May 2, at a cost of $101. Join this refreshing and invigorating deep-water exercise to improve muscle tone and cardiovascular fitness.
“Cardio Core Training” offered 10-11 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, Jan. 10-March 1, at a cost of $101; 10-11 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, March 13-May 3, at a cost of $96; and 10-11 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, May 22-June 21, at a cost of $69. Deep water aerobics combined with inner-core training will tone your muscles, develop cardiovascular fitness, and help strengthen lower back and abdominal muscles.
“‘Cuff ‘em’ Deep Water” offered 9-10 a.m. Saturdays, Jan. 14-Feb. 18, and March 17-April 28, at a cost of $47 per session. Movements using cuffs to add extra buoyancy or drag resistance are designed to add benefits to your exercise.
“Deep Hydropower” offered 8:45-9:45 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, Jan. 10-March 1, at a cost of $101; March 13-May 3 at a cost of $96; and May 22-June 21 at a cost of $69. This class is a challenging deep-water workout using “Hydro-fit” buoyancy and resistance equipment for sustained physical conditional and optimal results. This is an intermediate/advanced class.
“Deep Water Power Workout” offered 10:15-11 a.m. Mondays and Wednesdays, Jan. 9-Feb. 29, and March 12-May 2 at a cost of $79 per session, and May 21-June 20 at a cost of $60. Power walking/running and cardio intervals will develop strong inner core strength, muscle balance and overall well-being in this fast-moving deep-water class.
“Deep Water Weekend” offered 10:10-11:10 a.m. Saturdays, Jan. 14-Feb. 18 and March 17-April 28, at a cost of $47 per session. Join this invigorating deep water exercise to improve muscle tone and cardiovascular fitness.
“Fluid Fitness” offered 5:50-6:35 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays, Jan. 9-Feb. 22, at a cost of $67, and March 12-May 2 at a cost of $79. Walk, job and run your way to a fitter, healthier life as you work out in a no-impact environment in the deep water.
“Liquid Dynamics” offered 9-10 a.m. Mondays and Wednesdays, Jan. 9-Feb. 29, at a cost of $96; March 12-May 2 at a cost of $101; and May 21-June 20 at a cost of $69. Experience a shallow water aerobics class that has a high intensity level, moves that are physically demanding to help you regain flexibility and have fun. Swimming ability not required.
“Water Strength and Stretch” offered 9-10:15 a.m. Fridays, Jan. 12-March 2, at a cost of $69, and March 16-May 4 at a cost of $62.
