HACC's Gettysburg Campus recognized as Fit-Friendly Worksite

Employees earn American Heart Association’s award for second year
Nov. 5, 2012
GETTYSBURG – HACC’s Gettysburg Campus has been recognized by the American Heart Association as a Gold Fit-Friendly Worksite for the second year in a row.
The campus was awarded this elite honor as a Gold level award recipient by recognizing the importance of a healthy workplace for employees and taking important steps to create a culture of wellness by providing support to staff members.
As a Fit-Friendly Worksite, HACC’s Gettysburg Campus will receive recognition on the American Heart Association’s website, http://startwalkingnow.org, as well as local recognition by the association at area events and in communication materials supporting the recognition program.
The campus also received the designation in 2011. A campus Wellness Committee promoted initiatives and developed new programs and activities, such as participation in the Blue Cross Walking Works program, informal walking/jogging groups, promotion of weekly WellSpan community walking parties, and development of indoor and outdoor walking paths and maps.
