HACC Hides $10,000 in Tuition Giveaways Across 10-County Region

July 7, 2014

HARRISBURG, Pa. – HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College, is joining the nation with the hidden cash fad, but HACC isn’t giving away cold cash. Instead, the College is hiding 10 $1,000 tuition giveaways in its 10-county service area for any member of the community to find. The 10 counties are Adams, Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, Juniata, Lancaster, Lebanon, Perry, Schuylkill and York.

Each day from July 14-25, 2014, one tuition giveaway will be hidden in one of the 10 counties. To kick off HACC’s Treasure Hunt for Tuition Giveaways each day, the College will share the day’s clue around 8 a.m. on its collegewide Facebook page and Twitter (@HACC_info) account. Community members can stay aware of the tuition giveaway through the social media channels and the Twitter hash tag (#HACCtreasure).

Individuals must use the clues to navigate through the counties and claim the treasures by sharing a selfie or video to HACC’s collegewide Facebook page or Twitter (@HACC_info) account and visiting a designated location once the treasure is found. The tuition giveaway is open to the public, so individuals do not need to be currently enrolled at HACC to participate.

Once the participants follow the appropriate steps and are awarded the $1,000 tuition giveaways, they can use them for tuition and fees for credit and noncredit courses at HACC during the fall 2014 and spring 2015 terms.

The tuition giveaways are supported by the HACC Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization established in 1985 to raise private and corporate revenues in support of HACC.

The entire list of rules for the HACC Treasure Hunt for Tuition Giveaways is available on HACC’s website.
