HACC Adds Innovative Training to Emergency Medical Services Education
HARRISBURG, Pa. – HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College, has raised the bar for emergency medical services (EMS) education. The College recently purchased a state-of-the-art Anatomage Table to train emergency medical technicians (EMTs), advanced EMTs and paramedics.

“Our instructors and students now have access to hands-on learning of real human cadavers –   something that is usually only available at medical school. This table provides a huge advantage in introducing human function and pathology, and engages students on a much higher level,” said Jim Green, HACC’s director of EMS education.

The Anatomage Table uses cutting-edge technology to provide 3-D anatomy visualization and virtual dissection of human cadavers on a glass tabletop computer that students interact with by hand. Students can see the cadavers from virtually any angle and cross section. The Anatomage Table also provides over 1,800 case studies of medical and trauma patients for students to review as part of their preparation for work in the EMS field.

HACC acquired the Anatomage Table through federal stimulus funding.
