Fund for Excellence for CARE
About the Fund
Helping students overcome hardships such as food insecurity, housing insecurity and financial crises allows them to focus on their studies and complete their education. Their success improves the quality of life for themselves, their families and our community.
The Fund for Excellence for CARE (Consultation, Advocacy, Referrals and Empowerment) created a CARE Center to help students by:
- Providing groceries and access to mobile food pantries and food banks to combat food insecurities
- Connecting students with existing emergency assistance funds to help them face unexpected financial crises
- Making referrals to affordable services such as automotive repair, housing assistance and mental health counseling
- Providing access to new or gently used clothing
- Providing bus passes for students who do not qualify for transportation assistance
