Emergency Assistance Fund Naming Program

The student emergency assistance funds are available to assist students facing a financial emergency and unexpected financial burdens unrelated to tuition. These funds assist students enrolled at HACC who would otherwise be forced to postpone or leave their education.

Over the years, student emergency assistance funds have enabled students to achieve their educational goals. While primarily aimed at helping students continue their studies, these funds have occasionally been lifesaving. These funds have assisted a student escape domestic abuse, helped a student whose house was destroyed by fire and provided temporary shelter to a homeless student.

To ensure this process provides assistance to students who truly need extraordinary help, we follow a stringent application and selection process. Each student must apply online and provide an unofficial transcript. The application is then reviewed by a committee to determine if the student qualifies for the emergency assistance.

The number of applications far exceeds the total number of approved applications. YOU can make a direct impact on a student’s ability to continue their education by visiting hacc.edu/GiveNow to make a gift to the student emergency assistance funds.

"I am excited to know that I can go to my school for help and guidance when I am in times of need. The help I am receiving from HACC will relieve a true burden from my shoulders and allow me to focus on my studies for the last three months of school without the extra stress in my life clouding my abilities to focus. I appreciate everything that has been done for me and also for the consideration. I want you to know that your help has changed my life and will continue to do so for many others. I am greatly appreciative and proud to be student at HACC." ~ Myia Romey, HACC Student
