Women entrepreneurs interested in learning strategies for creating future business will get valuable tips at an upcoming Women's Talkabout at HACC's Business Start-up Center.

"Getting Business to Come to You" will be held from noon to 1:30 p.m. Thursday, June 14, in Suite 231, of the Central Pennsylvania's Community College's Three Penn Center, 349 Wiconisco St., Harrisburg.

"For businesses that don't have large sums of money to spend on advertising, this interactive discussion will provide tips for using more personal contacts to market," says Kathy Snavely, business counselor and adjunct faculty member. "While these types of initiatives take more time, they build relationships that are the essence of creating great business in the future."

Leading the discussion will be Laura Clampitt Douglas, CEO of MAX International Converters Inc. and president of Small Business Marketing Analysis, who has been providing valuable advice to small- and home-based businesses for more than 20 years. She is co-author of the best seller Getting Business to Come to You (Tarcher-Putnam, 1998) and gives talks and seminars on marketing and business development around the country.

The Women's Talkabouts series of free informal networking events will continue throughout the fall. The next session is scheduled for Friday Sept. 14.

Beginning in 2008 Talkabouts will focus on the financial side of operating a business. Each session is held from noon to 1:30 p.m. in Suite 231, Three Penn Center, 349 Wiconisco St. Women business owners interested in attending should call 717-221-1311 to reserve a seat. Participants are encouraged to bring a brown bag lunch. HACC will provide a dessert and beverage.
