Michele Wherley of Spring Grove has been named the first full-time admissions/enrollment management specialist at the York Campus of HACC, Central Pennsylvania's Community College.

Wherley will work with high school guidance counselors and students, participate in college nights and career fairs, and provide presentations and tours to promote HACC's rapidly growing third largest campus and its array of programs. She previously held a similar role at HACC's Lancaster Campus.

"The college anticipated there would be a strong demand for community college classes in York County, but our student enrollment has climbed through the roof and we are definitely ready for a full-time representative," said Dean Jean Treuthart, who has seen enrollment grow from 225 students the first semester in spring 2003 to 1,831 students this fall.

In addition to the campus at 2010 Pennsylvania Avenue, just north of Route 30 behind the Crossroads/Old Navy shopping center, HACC also is considering the need for additional offsite locations in York County.
