Women entrepreneurs interested in learning strategies for successfully managing a business should plan to attend HACC's next Women's Talkabouts session, "Using the Web as a Marketing Tool," on Wednesday, March 21 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at HACC's Business Start-up Center. The session is part of a series of free informal networking events for women in small business known as Women's Talkabouts.

Women's Talkabouts give women entrepreneurs an informal way to share ideas and concerns with their peers, according to Fran Verotsky, director of HACC's Institute for Entrepreneurial Studies.

"It is important for women entrepreneurs to understand that there are other women out there who share the same types of questions and concerns and they can help each other through these 'talkabouts,'" Verotsky explained.

The facilitators for the March session about marketing on the Web are Jennifer Daggs and Kim Evans-Werner. Daggs, owner of Kerensamere Studios, has successfully used the web to sell her unique stained glass creations. Evans-Werner consults with small and emerging businesses to offer web site development through her company, Impeccable Pages Webmastery Services.

"Women's Talkabouts" will continue throughout the year, with sessions already planned for April 20, June 14, September 14, and November 16.

The Friday, April 20 session, "Balancing Work with Home Life," will feature Sharon Marquart as facilitator. Marquart is a successful entrepreneur who is the owner of a coaching business that focuses on education and outreach. She also is the author of three books and is a popular keynote speaker.

The Thursday, June 14 session is titled "Getting Business to Come to You" and will feature Laura Clampitt Douglas as facilitator.

Each of the "Women's Talkabouts" are held in Suite 231, Three Penn Center, 349 Wiconisco Street. Women business owners interested in attending should call 717-221-1311 to reserve a seat. Participants are encouraged to bring a brown bag lunch. HACC will provide a dessert and beverage.
