Want to get in shape? Struggling to create the perfect landscaping for your home? These are just a few questions that can be resolved by registering for one of the noncredit courses available this spring at the Lancaster Campus of HACC, Central Pennsylvania's Community College.

One noncredit class that can help you firm up, Toning I, will teach body toning through the use of weight resistance. Each individual will be evaluated to meet their specific goals. Individuals will learn and practice proper weight resistance techniques to tone and shape the body by using free weights and machines. This course is designed for the beginner wishing to improve muscle endurance and their level of fitness. Training logs will be provided, as well as motivational techniques. The class will be held on Wednesdays from May 9 through May 30 from 6-7:30pm. Cost is $50.

Those interested in improving their cooking skills should sign up for Ready, Set, Grill, a class designed to teach grilling essentials for your own "backyard BBQ." This course will introduce you to different preparation styles to grill meats, fresh seafood, and those favorite summertime vegetables. Learn techniques of rubs and marinades for the grill on Thursday, May 10 from 6-9pm. Cost is $50.

If you want to achieve the ideal backyard, Building a Water Garden can help. Water gardens and koi ponds are not only delightful to admire but simple to create. This course is an introduction of different building and design concepts, as well as maintenance of water gardens, koi ponds, waterfalls, water plant choices, fish selections along with feeding, and health of fish and plants. The class will be held on Thursday, May 17 from 6-9pm and Saturday, May 19 from 1-4pm. The May 19 class will be held off-campus. Instructor will give directions first night of class. Cost is $50.

Basic 35mm Photography will teach the basics of camera control, principals of exposure, and metering. While many aspects are similar between film and digital photography, this class would be optimized for the medium of film and would also include discussions on film speeds, types of emulsions, practical composition, and some techniques to immediately improve your photography skills. The class will be held on Thursdays at 6:30-8:30pm from May 10-31. Cost is $65.
