HACC, Central Pennsylvania's Community College, recognized the accomplishments of seven students who graduated from the medical assisting programs at the Harrisburg Campus.

Most of the graduates of the medical assisting programs, both certificate and associate degree, can now begin jobs in various health care offices and clinics. In these positions, they will work with scheduling, billing and recordkeeping; they also take basic patient histories, take vital signs, and assist physicians with various procedures and conduct simple laboratory tests.

Students in the associate degree program study further in phlebotomy and law and ethics education, and are also poised to continue to a bachelor's degree. Both certificate and degree tracks qualify the student for the national certification exam.

Students completing the Medical Assisting associate degree program include:

Mechanicsburg - Olena Shluharchuk

New Oxford - Erin Craybill

Valley View - Becky Messner
