Radius, HACC gallery and museum shop, will feature the work of Kathleen Liddle during January. During her years crafting, the Pottsville-based textile artist has enjoyed spinning, weaving, knitting, dyeing, quilting and designing and sculpting original Santa dolls.

An award-winning spinner, Liddle has been juried in fibers by the Pennsylvania Guild of Craftsmen since 1985. She has taken numerous fiber workshops and has done extensive reading on the art of sculpting. Her work has been shown at The Garden Shoppe in Orwigsburg and featured in The Pottsville Republican.

"Her craftsmanship is excellent," said Jessica Lantz, curator of arts and assistant manager. "To make her purses, she hand dyes the mohair, knits the purse and sews the lining."

In addition to the purses, Radius carries other samples of Liddle's work, including handmade shrugs, wraps, scarves and hats. The gallery will hold an open house featuring her work from 1-3 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 13. Liddle will be on hand to answer questions and meet visitors. In addition, light refreshments will be provided.

Radius, HACC gallery and museum shop, is located on the ground floor of the State Museum of Pennsylvania, Third and North streets. Radius is a partnership of Central Pennsylvania's Community College and the State of Pennsylvania/Pennsylvania Historical Museum Commission.
