HACC’s Lancaster Campus annual job fair is free and open to HACC students, alumni and Lancaster area residents.

The job fair takes place 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday, March 20 and Thursday, March 21, 2013 in room 203 of the East Building at the Lancaster Campus of HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College. Job seekers and career changers can meet with industry leaders and find out about jobs and internships while employers can tap into Lancaster County’s labor pool to find just the right employees.

Employers who are interested in joining the annual event can contact the Career and Transfer Center at the Lancaster Campus at 717-358-2985 or 717-358-2290 to reserve a table.

“More employers are able to participate in a two-day event and that benefits attendees and employers,” said Lorie Sonnen, assistant director of career services at the Lancaster Campus. “Our job fair is a great opportunity not only for HACC students, but also for alumni and members of the community. We traditionally have more than 55 employers throughout the two days.”

Many employers offer on-the-spot interviews for full-time or part-time positions, entry level or professional positions and internship and mentoring opportunities in a range of professions.

“Many company representatives from Lancaster County and also from the entire region will be at the job fair. We also encourage people to attend either of our sessions about getting an interview and being competitive in the job search,” said Sonnen.

The first session, “Looking to the Future in an Increasingly Competitive World; Underdog Becomes the Winner,” is scheduled for 11 a.m. – noon on Wednesday, March 20. The presenter is Patricia Costello, recruitment specialist for the Bureau of Employment Services.

“Getting that Interview - How to Write Cover Letters and Resumes,” is scheduled for 11 a.m.-noon on Thursday, March 21. Mary McQuinn, human resources director for the HACC Lancaster and Lebanon Campuses, is the presenter.

HACC representatives also can provide guidance about workforce development and training programs available at the Lancaster Campus for visitors who want to explore additional professional advancement.

Last year, companies from a spectrum of employers met with more than 1100 potential candidates. For more information, call Sonnen at 717-358-2985 or 717-358-2290 or email her at llsonnen@hacc.edu.
