Meet Christina: Trusting the Process and Serving Her Community

“HACC was the most affordable and enhanced college that gave me the opportunity to gain another career path in healthcare.” 

As a medical assistant, Christina knew she wanted to expand her career opportunities in health care. HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College, was the most affordable and efficient choice to reach her goal to become an emergency medical technician (EMT).

“Other schools required [traveling] longer distances or longer duration to achieve your goal [while] still getting the experience and knowledge required,” explained Christina.

Christina says students juggling various responsibilities benefit from the flexibility offered at HACC, including remote, in-person and hybrid classes. 

“They don’t always require you to be on site to primarily focus on your studies and classroom learning,” said Christina.

Christina said the EMT Program was the right fit for her because it required just one textbook, making it easy to focus on the information she needed. She urged HACC students to trust the process and communicate regularly with their instructors.

After completing her HACC education, Christina plans serve her community as an emergency medical service volunteer while also continuing her career as a medical assistant.
