Student Involvement - The Spaces In Between: Allyship, Advocacy & Supporting APIDA Populations

Date: Monday May 3, 2021 (This event occurred in the past.)
Time: 12:00 PM
  • Description:

What does it mean to holistically and authentically support individuals who identify as Asian, Pacific Islander, and Desi American (APIDA), particularly in college settings? This fundamental question of supporting APIDA students has been met with answers as diverse as the community membership itself. This session, presented by Olajiwon McCadney, HACC Faculty Fellow, will explore the many ways that APIDA identity is shaped both within and outside the community college student experience as well as offering solutions to support this population of students. All are welcome.
