HARRISBURG – What started as Enterprise Week in the United Kingdom in 2004 has grown into Global Entrepreneurship Week – a worldwide movement with more than 77 countries. This year, HACC’s Institute for Entrepreneurial Studies will recognize the special week Nov. 14-20 with events at its regional campuses that can advance the efforts of entrepreneurs in the mid-state.
“Inspiring young people to think about entrepreneurship is what this week focuses on – and we’re taking it to heart,” said Fran Verotsky, executive director of HACC’s Institute of Entrepreneurial Studies.
The public is invited to attend any or all of the following programs:
Join the monthly Talkabout program from noon-1:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 19, at HACC-York Campus, 2101 Pennsylvania Avenue. The topic of this free networking event is “Branding Basics,” led by Sarah Lanpher, owner of Nuts about Granola and Littles Marketing and Consulting. Bring a brown bag lunch; HACC will provide a dessert and beverage.
Each of the following programs costs $30 each with advance registration required:
  • “Branding Basics,” 6-9 p.m. Monday, Nov. 15, hosted by Marjorie Kirchner, HACC business counselor, at HACC-Lebanon Campus, 735 Cumberland St.
  •  “USP (Unique Selling Proposition): Do or Die,” 6-9 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 16, hosted by Kathy Snavely, HACC business counselor, at HACC-Gettysburg Campus, 731 Old Harrisburg Road.
  • “USP (Unique Selling Proposition): Do or Die,” 9-11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 17, hosted by Kathy Snavely, HACC business counselor, at HACC-York Campus, 2010 Pennsylvania Ave. The presentation will be followed with “Finance Basics,” led by Ann Turner, CEO, Turner Business Consulting.
  • “Jump Start Your Business Plan,” 6-9 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 17, hosted by David McNaughton, HACC business counselor, at HACC-Lancaster Campus, 1641 Old Philadelphia Pike.
  • “Personal and Business Taxes,” 6-9 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 18, hosted by John H. Klingler, CPA, at Midtown 1, corner of Fourth and Reily streets.
