GETTYSBURG – The annual conference for female entrepreneurs pulls in to the Gettysburg Campus of HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College on Friday, Sept. 24.
Women on the Move travels to HACC’s regional campuses assisting entrepreneurs who are on the road to starting a business or who have already begun their entrepreneurial journey. This year’s event offers new and timely topics designed to advance entrepreneurs and their small businesses. It will take place from 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. in the Robert C. Hoffman Community Room on HACC’s Gettysburg Campus, 731 Old Harrisburg Road.
The schedule includes local presenters:
  • 8:30-9:15 a.m. – Registration, welcome and networking
  • 9:15-10:15 a.m. – Keynote with Holly Cookerly, R.N., M.Ed., coordinator for Community Health Improvement at WellSpan Health in Gettysburg
  • 10:30-11 a.m. – Carrie Stuart, president of the Gettysburg Adams Chamber of Commerce and a session on successful networking
  • 11-11:45 a.m. – Panel discussion about financing a small business with Robin Fitzpatrick, president of the Adams County Economic Development Corporation; Phyllis Leonard, officer/relationship manager, business banking at Wachovia in York; and Gary Rappoldt, vice president and commercial loan officer for Adams County National Bank in Gettysburg
  • 12:15-1 p.m. – Kathy Snavely, counselor for HACC’s Institute for Entrepreneurial Studies presents a session on social media
  • 2-3 p.m. – Panelists share their business journeys. They include Gettysburg business owners Jen Faul, owner and operator of Gettysburg Outdoor Adventures; Phyllis Netherland, owner of PB Netherland Design; Tammy Reese, owner of The Downtown Dog Company; and Susan Trostle, owner of T & S Menswear, Inc.
