Deanna Meyer's 'A Story of Illustration' on display at HACC's Lancaster Campus
Reception Oct. 24 for Lancaster artist
Oct. 15, 2012
LANCASTER – Deanna Meyer, children’s storybook author/illustrator and founder of Grease and Grace Art Designs, will share her ‘A Story of Illustration’ exhibit at the Art Space in the East Building at Lancaster Campus of HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College Oct. 22-Dec. 6, 2012.
A reception for Meyer is scheduled for 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2012, in the Art Space in the East Building of the campus, 1641 Old Philadelphia Pike.
A Lancaster native and commercial artist by trade, Meyer’s exhibit will describe her experience in creating her first picture book, “Buffalo on the Ridge.” The display offers her insight on book illustration, character development, and manuscript writing.
The exhibit also includes pieces from Meyer’s newest project, “Seed,” and samples from her professional portfolio, along with her original storybook watercolors, pencil sketches and character studies from “Buffalo on the Ridge.”
Meyer founded Grease and Grace Art Designs after conversations with her father and stepmother, Dean and Cindy Hogg, about starting a business combining all of their artistic skills. The online store combines a multitude of art styles and designs to create children’s themed art prints, books and products; gifts; nature-themed paintings on slate, driftwood and cookware; bar and tavern art and other unique items.
Grease and Grace is a subsidiary of Verso Graphics Studio, Meyer’s original gallery site that features her children’s book portfolio.
Hours for the Art Space are 9 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday-Thursday and 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday. For more information, contact Ilene Rosenberg at the Lancaster Campus of HACC, 717-948-1806 or e-mail at irrosenb@hacc.edu.
