The Hot Club of San Francisco Free pre-show performance by local DeAngelo Trio
Oct. 15, 2013
HARRISBURG, Pa. – The Hot Club of San Francisco brings an evening of vintage silent films with live gypsy swing music to Live at Rose Lehrman on Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2013, at 7:30 p.m. in the Rose Lehrman Arts Center on the Harrisburg Campus of HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College.

Celebrating the music of Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelli, The Hot Club borrows the all-string instrumentation of violin, bass and guitar, breathing new life into the music with classic tunes and original compositions from the group’s superb lead guitarist, Paul Mehling.

The three silent films to be featured are “The Cameraman’s Revenge,” “The Mascot” and “There It Is.” As images flicker to life, The Hot Club gypsy musicians play their guitars and fiddles, matching every movement on the screen with characteristic virtuosity, passion and humor.

Free pre-show lobby entertainment will feature the DeAngelo Trio from Carlisle, Pa., at 6:30 p.m.

The show sponsors for The Hot Club of San Francisco are Central Pennsylvania Friends of Jazz and WJAZ 91.7 FM.
