Noncredit Scholarships

The HACC Foundation offers scholarships to students enrolling in noncredit courses. Please learn more about the noncredit scholarship application below.

 

How do I apply for a noncredit scholarship?

Please read and complete the application below. Please complete a new application for each course. You must apply before the first day of your course. You must be admitted to HACC and have a HACC ID to apply. 

If you have not been assigned a HACC ID, please call 717-780-2414 for assistance. We are not able to offer a scholarship if you have a financial hold with HACC. For more information, please call 717-780-2414.


Will a scholarship cover the entire cost of my course?

A scholarship may not cover the entire cost of your course. Please prepare alternative funding options for your selected course.

Scholarships are not awarded if the course fee is fully covered by a third-party (for example, employer, business, community or government agency). 

We do not offer multiple scholarships for one course. 

Scholarships are not offered for course fees under $100.

Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

Adult Education Pathways Assistance Award

  • Students must be enrolled in the Adult Education Pathways Program at HACC and must complete an essay of 250 words explaining why he/she is in need of this award.

Rotary Veterans Initiative Scholarship for Commercial Driver’s License

  • Students must be affiliated with the U.S. military student (U.S. veteran, active duty, reservist or National Guard). 
  • Students must be honorably discharged or a currently serving member in good standing with their units.
  • Students must be enrolled in HACC’s Commercial Driver’s License Program.
  • Preference will be given to U.S. military students with unmet financial need, students who are without G.I. Bill benefits and/or students whose G.I. Bill benefits do not meet their necessary college expenses.

 

Shipley Energy Scholarship Award

  • Students must be enrolled in HACC’s CDL Program at the Harrisburg Campus.
  • Students must be at least 21 years of age at the time of the application to the program.


EMT Scholarship

  • Students must reside in the Emergency Health Services Federation service area (Adams, Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, Lancaster, Lebanon, Perry and York counties.)
  • Students must be enrolled in HACC’s EMT Program.
  • Preferences will be given to students with unmet financial need. 


Joel Grottenthaler Memorial Scholarship Endowment

  • Students must reside in Dauphin County or be employed for a Dauphin County Emergency Medical Service (EMS) agency.
  • Students must be enrolled in in the EMS Academy, the Emergency Medical Technician program, the EMT Advanced program or Paramedic program.
  • Preference will be given for EMS Academy students.

  • Preference will be given to U.S. military students with unmet financial need, students who are without G.I. Bill benefits and/or students whose G.I. Bill benefits do not meet their necessary college expenses.

     
 

Douglas W. Pollock Fire Academy Scholarship

  • Students must be from Dauphin, Cumberland, Perry or York counties.
  • Preference will be given to students in active military service, including National Guard service.
  • Preference will be given to volunteer fire fighters.
Medical Assisting

UPMC Pinnacle Workforce Development Medical Assisting Scholarship Award

  • Student must be enrolled in the Workforce Medical Assisting Certificate Program
  • Students must participate on the mandatory Career Preparation Workshop before completing the program. 

 


Physician Office Assistant Scholarships

Gettysburg Hospital Foundation Scholarship

  • Students must attend the Gettysburg Campus.
  • Students must be enrolled in Physician Office Assistant Program prior to funds being disbursed to student account.
  • Preference will go to WellSpan Health employees or family members of WellSpan Health employees.

 

Partnership for Better Health Noncredit Scholarship Endowment

  • Students must be enrolled in a noncredit healthcare program.
  • Students must reside in the Partnership for Better Health service area.
  • Preference will be given to students with unmet financial need.

 

WellSpan Health Community Partnership

  • Students must attend the Gettysburg, Lancaster, Lebanon or York Campus.
  • Students must be enrolled in the Physician Office Assistance Program.
  • Students must have unmet need with a household income at or below $29,700 for a single person or $40,050 for a two-person household.

Health-Related Workforce Development Programs Scholarship

  • Students must be enrolled in any of HACC’s health-related workforce development programs
  • Students must have unmet financial need

  • Students must be affiliated with the U.S. military (U.S. veteran, active duty, reservist or National Guard).
  • Students must be honorably discharged or a currently serving member in good standing with their units.

  • Students must be enrolled in one of the following programs:
    • Cardiology Technician
    • Medical Billing and Coding Specialist
    • Nurse Aide
    • Pharmacy Technician
    • Phlebotomy Technician
    • Physician Office Assistant
    • Certified Recovery Specialist

James and Shirley Murray Memorial Scholarship

  • Students must be residents of Central Pennsylvania.
  • Students must demonstrate unmet financial need as demonstrated by the FAFSA.
  • Students must be enrolled in HACC's Police Academy or the Police Academy Pre service Program.
     

Law Enforcement Educational Foundation Scholarship

  • Students must demonstrate unmet financial need as demonstrated by the FAFSA.
  • Students must be enrolled in HACC's Police Science Program.
     

Officer David Tome Memorial Scholarship Fund

  • Students must attend the Harrisburg Campus.
  • Students must be enrolled full or part-time.
  • Students must be enrolled in HACC’s Police Academy.
  • Students must be pre-service cadets.
  • Preference will be given to students who demonstrate financial need.
     

Patrick Joseph Hopkins Memorial Scholarship

  • Students must demonstrate unmet financial need as demonstrated by the FAFSA.
  • Students must be enrolled in HACC's Police Academy or Police Academy Pre-service Program.
  • Students must have applied and been accepted for ACT 120 training.

Eligibility:

  1. Students must be enrolled in HACC's Certified Recovery Specialist/Certified Family Recovery Specialist Certificate Program.
  2. Students must be enrolled at HACC's York Campus or reside in York County.
  3. Students must have a minimum GPA of 2.0.
  4. Students must have unmet financial need.
 

John J. Shumaker Memorial Scholarship

  • Students must be enrolled in a program of study offered at the Senator John J. Shumaker Public Safety Center related to Criminal Justice, Fire Science, Paramedic and Emergency Services Management.
     

Timothy Stine Memorial Scholarship

  • Students must demonstrate unmet financial need as demonstrated by the FAFSA.
  • Students must be enrolled in HACC's Police Science, Police Administration, Emergency Medical Technician, Paramedic, Emergency Health Services or Fire Science Program.

 

Alice Tregea Daffodil Scholarship

  • Students must be enrolled in an English as a Second Language (ESL) for Community, College and Career course.

 

HACC’s Harrisburg Campus Opportunity and Access Noncredit Scholarship Endowment 

  • Students must be enrolled in and attend a noncredit program offered at HACC’s Harrisburg Campus.

 

Tec Centro Alumni Noncredit Scholarship Award

  • Students must have completed a program at Tec Centro.
  • Students must be enrolled in a workforce program through HACC in Lancaster County. 
  • Preference is given to students with unmet financial need.
