HACC Students

Four-Year Transfer Partners

Our local, preferred four-year partners
HACC enjoys transfer agreements with many colleges and universities – local, statewide, and across the globe. Our local, preferred partners are schools in, or close to, our 11-county region that have strong relationships and transfer agreements with HACC. These schools include the following:

  • Bloomsburg University
Students in a variety of program can transfer to the Bloomsburg Campus in Bloomsburg, PA. Or students who have earned career associate degrees can stay right here in Harrisburg and earn a Bachelor of Applied Science in Technical Leadership. Bloomsburg offers the BAS-TL through a combination of online and on-campus classes. The on-campus classes are offered on the Harrisburg Campus and at the Dixon University Center in Harrisburg.
  • Bucknell University
The Bucknell Community College Scholars Program provides full-scholarship for up to 6 HACC Associate-degree graduates to complete their Bachelor’s degree. Recipients are selected through a competitive application and selection process.
  • Central Penn College
Central Penn College has recently updated a number of program-to-program transfer agreements and added several new ones in Health Careers and Nursing. They are willing to maximize the transfer of credits from HACC and offer a $500 scholarship to qualifying HACC students.
  • Elizabethtown College
Elizabethtown College (EC) and Harrisburg Area Community College (HACC) agree to enter into a Dual Admission Agreement (pdf) that will provide HACC students with articulated curricula and policies that lead to a bachelor’s degree at EC. Students pursue their bachelor’s degree through seamless enrollment from an associate degree program at HACC through upper-division course work at EC.
  • Lebanon Valley College
Lebanon Valley College has been a long-time partner with HACC. LVC welcomes transfer students, and has a generous scholarship package available to HACC Honor’s, PTK, and high-performing students.
  • Millersville University
Millersville University receives the second-largest number of HACC graduates. Many program-to-program articulations are in place so HACC students can transfer seamlessly to MU and hit the ground running in their junior year.
  • Penn State Harrisburg
Penn-State Harrisburg receives more transfer students from HACC than any other college or university. The two institutions have worked collaboratively on their curriculum for decades, so the transfer process is smooth with minimal loss of credits.
  • Pennsylvania College of Art and Design
Pennsylvania College of Art and Design, central Pennsylvania’s only non-profit professional art college, has recently signed a dual admissions transfer agreement, giving HACC students who earn an Associate of Fine Arts in Photography the opportunity to transfer to the Photography  Bachelor of Fine Arts program at PCA&D.

  • Shippensburg University
Shippensburg University is another popular choice for HACC transfer students. Many program-to-program agreements are in place through the statewide agreement described below.
  • York College of Pennsylvania
York College of Pennsylvania has recently signed a number of program-to-program transfer agreements with HACC, allowing our students to successfully transfer with little or no loss of credits.
